The fourth three-dimensional wire sculpture I ever created, The Portal’s Legacy carries a piece of where it all began. Its circular channel of 11 Herkimer diamonds originally belonged to the very first Cosmic Portal, co-created with my brother Tyler, now located at the museum in Blue Mountain Lake in New York’s Adirondack Mountains. Before becoming part of this sculpture, the channel briefly lived as a pendant, worn by both Tyler and me.
A removable crystal ball brings another dimension to the piece, accompanied by a deep orange citrine, small topaz tucked throughout the wire weaves, and 13 tiger’s eye stones following the sculpture’s leg. Sweeping curves and intricate wirework bring these elements together around a channel that has already lived several lives.
This piece holds a particularly special place in my journey a connection between brothers, an early exploration of sculptural wirework, and a fragment of our first portal carried forward into something new.
