About the Library

The Library of Wire is an ever-growing archive of objects, stories, and curiosities created by wire artist W. Brett Schrader.

Here, jewelry is treated as more than something to be worn.

Each piece begins with stone, metal, wood, fossil, or some other curious material—and slowly becomes an artifact with a name, a history, and a story of its own. Some are accompanied by small books documenting their creation, symbolism, materials, and mysteries. Others exist simply as objects waiting for their next keeper.

The Library grew from a simple idea:

What if the things we create could feel as though they had already lived a life before we found them?

Within its shelves are talismans, pendants, wands, strange instruments, living relics, and objects that don't always fit neatly into a category. Their stories blur the line between craftsmanship and mythology, allowing the real process of making an object to become part of its imagined history.

Wire becomes architecture.
Crystals become characters.
Imperfections become evidence of a journey.

At the center of it all is curiosity.

The Library of Wire was never created to preserve objects alone. It exists to preserve the feeling of discovering something strange and beautiful—the same feeling as opening an old book, finding an unknown key, turning over an unusual stone, or wondering what might be hidden behind a door you've never noticed before.

Because perhaps imagination isn't something we're meant to grow out of.

Perhaps we simply need something to remind us how to find it again.

Welcome to the Library of Wire.

Stay curious.
